Dear Future Host Family brevet :)

Dear lovely future host family!

In this letter I'm going to try and get you and your whole family to get to know me and hopefully choose me to become a part of your family.

I want to be the best role model for your children as possible, with my playful soul and easygoing personality I'm really easy to get along with.

If you and your children just want an au pair then I am probably not right for your family. For me the feeling of belonging to a family when I'm so far away from mine is really important. I won't be someone that will just take the absolute best care of your children and then when I'm of work just don't care about them. I want to take the absolute best care of your children and becoming a part of the family.

The reason I want to be an au pair is for the simple reason that I really love children. Just a little smile from a child makes my day. The way children see the world is so different from us adults and when I'm around children and get to experience that is when I feel most alive. Children are not only cute they are really smart as well and I learn new things every time I'm around them.

And to become an au pair for me is going to be a really good experience for the future because after the year with you and your family I'm going back to school to become a youth counselor.

So now when you know why I want to become an au pair it's time for me to introduce myself and those who matters most to me even though you probably already know everything about me from my application.

My name is Jenny Väisänen and I was born August 5th 1989 in a town called Västerås it's Sweden's fifth biggest city. Two years after me came my younger sister Sara, one year after my brother William, two years after my sister Joanna, two years after my sister Ellen and finally two years after that my youngest sister Emma came to the world. I have always been there for my siblings and they know that they can talk to me and rely on me no matter what.

And of corse I have my parents and they are Helena (20 years older then me) and Kimmo (22 years older then me) Väisänen they have been married for 25 years 2012. They are both finnish and that makes me 100% finnish even though I'm born in Sweden.

I don't live with my parents, I moved out when I was 17 to try out to live in Stockholm (Sweden's capital). When I was 19 I moved back to Västerås and since September 2010 I have been living with my boyfriend, we have been together for 3 years and are planning to get engaged and married in 2-3 years. We also have a French bulldog Bandit (which you can see photos of in my photo album).

I'm currently working as a child skills trainer and right now I'm working with a girl that is 16 years old, and we are doing all kinds of activities like bowling, badminton, pool and other sports. It's a really rewarding job and I love it.

Before that I went to school and studied retail, I finished the 42 weeks and then I realized that I didn't want to work in a store I want to work with people and mainly children so I started looking up what I wanted to work with and I remembered that I always wanted to become an au pair so I took the step and here I am writing a letter to my future host family in USA.

So what experience do I have with children?

Well, as you read in the beginning I have 5 younger siblings which means two things: 1: I always babysat my siblings. 2: So I didn't have the time to babysit other families children.

As I was the oldest I probably learned to cook when I was 9 years old. My parents both worked/works full time and I didn't want my younger siblings to be in daycare for too long (5-6pm) so I usually went and picked them up after my school day ended (between 2-3pm). So would take them home give the food and play with them until my parents came home. We did everything from going outside to play at the playground to being inside playing board games, doing arts and crafts and almost every single day we played hide and seek.

So who is Jenny Väisänen?

I am a reliable, playful, easygoing and most important honest person. That loves being around my family and friends. The most exiting thing for me is meeting new people.

The biggest interest I have is sports, I really love sports. I love watching sport, playing sports and trying new sports.

When I'm not working or watching sports I love being with my friends and family. I also really enjoy watching movies.

Also I have had my drivers license for 3 years in september 2012. I'm use to driving in big cities (maybe not as big compared to all of your big cities in USA), country roads, in rain, snow and ice.

Now when you probably know everything about me, I really hope you enjoyed getting to know me more and my life and I really hope that I am the one you and your family are looking for to become a part of your family to share a year with.

If there are something you didn't get the answer to don't hesitate to contact me!

I'm exited to hear for you!

Love Jenny
